Pros & Cons

Design
When it comes to design, the DeWalt DXIG2200 generator is, in my opinion, one of the toughest-looking portable generators on the market.
It measures 545mm long, 375mm wide, and 515mm sides with 4 symmetrical sides. It weighs 22.5kg which is not much heavier than a typical 2000W unit.
In the control panel, it has one AC outlet, a 12V DC outlet, an ECO mode switch, and a parallel port. DeWalt comes with a full LED display run time, fuel level, and wattage indicators which is a rare feature in low wattage generators.

The DeWalt DXIG3600E looks completely different from the 2200W DeWalt generator. It has a plain and simple design that doesn’t look as tough as its smaller cousin.
It measures 640mm long, 385mm wide, and 450mm tall which isn’t a lot bigger than the 2200W cousin despite having much more power. However, at 43kg, it weighs almost twice as much as the smaller DeWalt generator.
Luckily, the DeWalt DXIG3600E has a built-in foldable handle and wheels which allows you to pull it rather than lift it.
Unsurprisingly, DeWalt generators come in their signature colour—yellow and black.

Power Specs
DeWalt generators are slightly more powerful than the usual 2000W and 3500W generators. At 2200W and 3600W, they’re the perfect middle ground between wanting a little more power without actually buying a bigger generator.
The 2200W DeWalt generator has a maximum power output of 2200W and a continuous power output of 1800W which is enough to run either a small fridge, microwave, and an air conditioner separately.
Most experienced motorhome owners, however, will not recommend a 2200W generator if you’re running an air conditioner and other appliances. If you want to be able to use multiple appliances at once, going for at least 3500W is recommended.
However, if you already bought a 2200W generator and found out it can’t handle the amount of power you require, don’t worry, DeWalt generators have a built-in parallel port that allows you to link two units for twice the amount of power.
The DeWalt DXIG2200 doesn’t come with an electric start but the recoil start works well and usually turns the generator on with one pull.
DeWalt DXIG2200 can run for 8 hours at 50% of the load which is longer than most generators in its class. It’s perfect for cooling drinks and food in your fridge when camping outdoors.

The DeWalt 3600W is the sweet spot for most caravan and motorhome owners. With a 3200W running capacity, it's got enough power to run an air conditioner, small fridge, and charge your caravan’s battery simultaneously (depending on the power consumption of those appliances, of course).
It has a 9L fuel capacity. Unlike its smaller cousin, the DeWalt DXIG3600E comes with an electric start which is pretty convenient.
DeWalt DXIG2200 and DXIG3600E are powered by a DeWalt 79cc and 121cc OHV engine respectively. For their respective rated power output, these engines are not overworked which means this generator is perfect for heavy duty usage.
Most customers love its quiet, low-tone sound. DeWalt generators are rated only 50-54dB at 7 meters when set in ECO mode. This allows you to use the generator without too much engine noise.
The DeWalt DXIG2200 and DXIG3600E consume petrol.

Known Issues & Warranty
Known Issues
Overall, the DeWalt generators are considered by many as decent mid-range generators.
We’ve found no known issues regarding its quality and performance except for one customer who claimed his 2200W DeWalt generator failed to start after a month of almost daily use. But this case is one out of many owners of DeWalt who seem to be very happy with the product.
Warranty
DeWalt offers a 3-year warranty for personal use and 6 months for commercial use. It has the same warranty as some of the premium brands like Honda.
With regards to honouring warranty claims, DeWalt has a good reputation with their customers and has no known issues of making the customers wait or unreasonably voiding claims within the warranty period. Read more about their warranty.

Price
DeWalt generators are mid-range options for those looking for a reliable generator with a mix of value and quality.
It has a generous 3-year warranty, great performance, and the quality of a trusted brand. At this price, we believe that these DeWalt generators are right at the sweet spot to get the most value for your money.
Yes, it's not as cheap as the likes of Gentrax or Cromtech Outback generators, but the quality is higher, so if you have the budget and will get plenty of use out of it, it's worth it.

I had a warranty claim on a dewalt belt sander once – looked like it was built tough mainly made of aluminium and plastic – went to use it worked for a little bit stopped working and smelt electrically funny, called in to Bunnings who I purchased through, aparently I had to go through an authorised dewalt repair shop so I went there they told me it had a double burnt out motor (Im not hard on tools) they said they would warranty the one motor but not both – they were saying I was hard on it WTF? couldnt prove otherwise – so I payed $95 to get it fixed – happened straight away again – went back there same thing double burnt out motor – almost got in an arguement with them – not paying for another – went in the bin and bought a Makita – no burnt out motors and have had it 5+ years very disapointed in the warranty and quality side of things. I understand its not Dewalt direct – but then they were not warrantying directly back then either.
Just google Dewalt warranty reviews – this speaks for itself
